French Residential 2016

Y6 visited France in January 2016 for a residential visit. They visited the Somme battle fields in this the 100th anniversary of the battle of the Somme that had 55, 000 casualties on the first day alone.

They toured the trenches, visited the Albert Museum, the Lochnager crater the Beaumont-Hamel newfoundland memorial and the Thiepval memorial that commemorates soldiers with no known graves.

The children also visited rue and practiced their French as well as having a lovely time at the Chateau.
