Year 5 and year 6 Gladstone Pottery Museum visit
On 7th March, these two year groups went to visit Gladstone Pottery Museum as part of their topic on ‘Super Stoke’
We had a great day and learned a lot about the pottery industry and how life was in the 1900s.
The pupils spent half of the day having a guided tour of the museum where we saw the bottle ovens; watched a very talented lady throwing a pot and we got to see inside the factory. It was really interesting.
The other half of the day was spent in a workshop learning about the jobs that children had to do in the factory. We dressed up as Victorian children and we acted out the jobs. We then had photos in the factory pretending we were doing the jobs.
