School Dinners

Our school dinners are cooked on the premises by our wonderful kitchen staff, led by Head Cook Mrs Amison.

The cost of a school dinner is £2.30 per day or £11.50 per full week Dinner money should be paid in advance via the Parent Pay website. The school office no longer accepts any cash payments.  Meal charges apply to our Nursery children and our Year 3 to Year 6 children.  If you require any support with setting up or payments, please go to the school office staff who will be happy to assist you.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are currently entitled to free meals through the Universal Infant Free School Meal programme.

Did you know that for every child that has applied for and been entitled to Free School Meals at any time during the last 6 years (due to their parents/carers receiving relevant benefits), the school receives £1,320 Pupil Premium funding into the school budget?  As you can imagine, this funding makes a significant difference to the opportunities we can offer to the children.  However, we now have a situation that all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children automatically receive a free school meal, without having to apply for it.  This has meant that the school is losing money that we are entitled to receive.

In order to help overcome this issue, we ask that ALL parents/carers to register on our online confidential free school meal check service at the following web address: –

https://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims

By registering on this system just once, even if you know you currently do not qualify,  you and the school will get notified should any family circumstances change.  Both will be notified of new eligibility or cancellation without any further action required.  No re-application for your child(ren) is necessary throughout their time at St. John’s C.E.(A) Primary School.

If you have any questions or require any assistance with this then please speak to the front office.
